Located in the heart of Melbourne’s financial district, 140 William Street is an iconic office building that boasts a state of the art End-of-Trip (EOT) facility.
For its many tenants, including well-known financial and legal service providers, the building management provides fulltime concierge and security services, along with car parking. Meanwhile the smart new EOT facilities offer bicycle storage, showers, hair dryers, luxury changing rooms and the option of a laundry service – just like a high-end health club.
Employees can now comfortably ride their bikes to work, take a shower, and securely store their personal belongings in a locker equipped with a GANTNER smart lock.
“As we began researching the market, GANTNER came as a highly recommended company with experience in the design and deployment of smart locker systems,” explains Cameron Scott, Operations Manager at 140 William Street.
To manage the male and female locker security system, operators chose the GANTNER networked locker management system. By simply presenting their staff ID to the lock’s reader field, facility users can conveniently operate lockers; no additional keys or PINs are required.
An LED Light, displaying green for available and red for un-available, ensures available lockers are easily identifiable making the system easy and intuitive to use.
For building managers, the networked locking system provides
comprehensive, secure and flexible locker management. Using the accompanying software, operators can easily administer locker allocation and track system usage.
Approximately 50% of lockers are allocated as free mode, meaning employees with permission to use EOT amenities can select any unused locker. To ensure availability, lockers are programmed as day-use only.
